You can begin your relationship with God right now! Jesus already paid the price, but it's up to you to accept the gift of salvation.  First, recognize that your sin separates you from God and that you are in need of forgiveness.  Confess your sins and ask for the Lord's help and forgiveness.  Then, believe in your heart that Jesus is God's Son and that he died and rose again just for you.  Ask him to come into your life as Lord and Savior and He will (Rom. 10:9-10).  You can say a simple prayer, like this one:

Dear God, I know that I am a sinner and that my sin has separated me from you.  Thank you for sending your Son to die in my place.  I trust Jesus now to forgive me of my sins.  I believe that he died and rose again just for me.  I desire to have a personal relationship with you and I invite Christ into my life as Lord and Savior.  Thank you for hearing my prayer.  Thank you for saving me.  In Jesus' name, Amen.
